What an incredible way to wrap up the week! Students from Berlin Intermediate School, Snow Hill Middle School, and Pocomoke Middle School showcased everything they learned during the Crescendo Summer Camp with Symphony 21 at their culminating performance.

Throughout the camp, students explored the world of music by learning to play the acoustic violin while also gaining hands-on experience with sound and lighting engineering. Their hard work, creativity, and confidence were on full display!

Wrapping up today's visits, WCPS leaders visited Pocomoke Middle School's summer academy programs, where students were taking the lead with their learning. 🌊🦋🦀 What an amazing day of learning for our Pocomoke Middle School 6th grade students at Assateague Island! Students participated in a variety of hands-on environmental science activities, including kayaking, seining, crabbing, and studying migratory monarch butterflies. They also learned about living shorelines and how these natural systems help protect coastal areas from erosion while supporting local wildlife and habitats. Experiences like these bring classroom learning to life and inspire our students to become future stewards of the environment. We are proud of their curiosity, engagement, and enthusiasm throughout the day! A special shoutout and thank you to National Park Service for hosting us and providing such an incredible educational experience. We appreciate the opportunity for our students to learn in one of our nation’s most beautiful outdoor classrooms.

Our 6th grade students had a great opportunity to learn about environmental science today at Gudelsky Park in West Ocean City! Throughout the school year, students have been raising horseshoe crabs and were excited to successfully release them into the bay today. A big thank you to Maryland Coastal Bays for providing this amazing hands-on learning experience for our students!

Our 5th grade students had a wonderful day exploring the Ocean City Life-Saving Museum and visiting the Veterans Memorial. Students enjoyed learning about local history, honoring those who served our country, and making meaningful connections beyond the classroom.
